Clyde Harold Crews Jr. “Hal”, age 67, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Glacier Care Center, after a long battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Hal Friday, August 4, at the Moose Lodge at 2 P.M.

Hal was born November 11, 1949 in Florida to Fern and Clyde Crews Sr. He was one of four children, growing up with three sisters.

Hal moved to Colstrip, Montana from Miami, Florida in 1974 and took his first job as an electrical apprentice. He worked in Colstrip for a year before moving to Cut Bank and working for his friend and mentor, Rex Neil of JF Neil & Sons Electric. Hal went through all his schooling and purchased the company from Rex and made it into his own successful electrical company, known today as 3C Electric.

In 1980, Hal had his son, Cory Thomas Crews. They were the best of buds and enjoyed many activities together. Hal taught Cory how to golf, those were always some of his favorite stories about his son. They also built countless model airplanes together. Cory even worked summers and during his high school years for his Dad at 3C Electric.

Hal met the love of his life, Debbie, in 2003. She had two daughters, Jessica and Jamie, who he took in and raised as his own, they were forever grateful to have Hal in their life. He was a very selfless man and enjoyed spending time with all of his family. Anyone who knows Hal knows he was quite the cook, he could make any recipe you gave him and it was always the best.  The entire family would gather in the kitchen to see what Hal was whipping up. Hal loved to travel with his best friend, Debbie. They would always bring the whole family along and literally traveled from one end of the country to the other. His favorite trips were the ones where he got to go fishing or go on a helicopter ride. Hal also taught the entire family how to golf, so they always golfed at the different courses on their trips, too.

In September of 2015, Hal had a new buddy, his grandson Jack. They had a special bond and Hal always looked forward to his visits with him. Hal’s face could light up a room when he heard Jack call him “Papa!”

Hal is survived by his wife, Debbie; son Cory (Sara) Crews; daughters Jessica and Jamie; grandson Jack; and his best furry buddy, his beagle Maggie.
