Jay Vasboe

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jay Vasboe on March 18, 2024, age 77.  He was born on March 12, 1947 to Ted and Kate Vasboe in Cut Bank.

Jay was a cherished Husband and Father. He will be deeply missed by many family and friends. 

Jay’s passions in life were his cows, his family, and the place he called home. He and Kathy were not known for going anywhere, but to town or a bull sale. Jay called the ranch north of Cut Bank home his entire life, having lived there since he was born. He instilled the love for the ranch in his children and grandchildren. Jay was always one to call and check in on how things were going with this person or that person, but mostly just to shoot the breeze. To know Jay Vasboe was to know someone who loved to visit. Jay had many accomplishments in life but the ones he was most proud of and wasn’t afraid to tell you, were being a father and grandfather. 

Jay Vasboe is survived by his son, Shane (Desirae) Vasboe; and daughter, Joey Vasboe; grandchildren, Dylan (Hannah) Vasboe, Dayne Vasboe, Tracer (Sara) Walter, Regan Walter, and Dawson Vasboe; great grandson, Hayze Vasboe; sister, Doris Winter; and brother, Mark Vasboe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Vasboe; parents, Ted and Kate Vasboe; and sister, Betty Jeffries. 

A funeral will be held on March 28th at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 2:00, with a social to follow in the church reception hall.  Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Jay’s life.
