Loren Duane Tweet, a son of Conrad, Montana, and a respected member of its community, passed away on April 19, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on May 25, 1943, Loren was deeply rooted in the Montana landscape, embodying its values of hard work, resilience, and compassion. He was the cherished son of Lorence and Roberta Ellis Tweet.

A graduate of Montana State University with a degree in Ag Business, Loren embarked on a journey that would lead him back to the very soil that shaped him. He held various positions in the agricultural sector, including roles at Great Western Sugar, the Farmers Home Administration, and First Northwestern Bank, all within the state of Montana. Through his work, Loren developed a vast network of connections across the state, and he always seemed to know someone wherever he went, a testament to his friendly demeanor and genuine nature.

In 1980, Loren returned to Conrad to continue the family farming tradition. He found fulfillment in nurturing the land and fostering its bounty, embodying the spirit of stewardship that characterized his life.  Beyond farming, Loren was deeply committed to improving the community of Conrad. He was a long-term member of the Economic Development Council, where his insights and dedication helped shape the town's future. Additionally, he contributed his expertise as a member of the Farmer's Supply Co-op Board of Directors, working tirelessly to support local farmers and businesses.

Loren's commitment to his family was unwavering. He was married twice in his lifetime. His first marriage to Betty Biehl in 1964 blessed him with two children, Brian and Brenda. After parting ways in 1988, Loren found love again with Ann Gottfried Hurley, whom he married in 1997. They shared their lives until their divorce in 2016. Loren cherished his role as a father and took great pride in his children's accomplishments.

He passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, following a brief hospitalization at Benefis of Great Falls, MT. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff at Logan Healthcare in Conrad, MT, for their compassionate care during his final months.

Loren is survived by his children, Brian Tweet and Brenda Dahl, his son-in-law Dan Dahl, his granddaughters Rian and Erin Dahl, his Aunt Doris Peterson, former wives Betty Biehl McAlear and Ann Gottfried, numerous cousins and countless friends. In his later years, he especially enjoyed the companionship of the many residents of the Horizon Lodge Retirement community.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Loren's life this summer.  Specifics will be announced in a separate notification. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Loren’s name to https://www.brightfocus.org/, working to cure Alzheimer’s and Macular Degeneration.

Loren leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and love. May he rest in peace, knowing that his spirit will forever be a part of the community he held dear.
