Rosalie Mary Guszregen

August 23, 1930 — February 7, 2024

Cut Bank

Rosalie Mary Guszregen peacefully passed away with loving family by her side on February 7, 2024 at Northern Pines Rehab and Nursing, formerly the Glacier Care Center in Cut Bank.

She was born in Lewistown, MT on August 23, 1930, she was the daughter of Otto Thielmann and Effie Pearson Thielmann. Her mother died of TB in December 1930. Her paternal Grandparents who homesteaded north of Chester, MT cared for her until Otto married Esther Fortmann on November 5, 1935.

Rosalie grew up on a farm/ranch north of Cut Bank with a half-brother and half-sister. Most memorable were the animals. She loved dogs, cats, calves, and lambs. Her favorite was the horse she rode to the country school. In the summers she herded sheep, made sure the windmill was working properly, and tended the garden. She graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1950 and went to work as a telephone operator.

She met Clifford Guszregen at a birthday party his brother had thrown for him. It was love at first sight. They were married on August 16, 1953. Watching them dance was poetry in motion.

Rosalie’s passion was singing. Always singing in church and community choirs. She really enjoyed being a part of Guys and Dolls. She loved working at the nursing home where she resided and passed. Rosalie liked to stay busy. She enjoyed helping with church dinners, embroidering, and gardening. She had a lot of fun traveling when she was younger. Her trips to Alaska and New Mexico being 2 of her most memorable. Cut Bank was home for Rosalie with so many cherished friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Roger Guptill; grandson, Lucas Guptill and great grandson, Asher Guptill.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Clifford’s birthday, June 1 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cut Bank.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quailwings Rescue.
