Anthony “Tony” Glenn Morris, 78, of Conrad, passed away on August 2, 2018 of natural causes.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 11, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Valier.
Tony was born in Grantsdale, Montana on July 27, 1940. He graduated from Great Falls High School where he held a basketball record for several years before it was broken. In May of 1958, Tony enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served for 13 years. He was stationed in various places such as Okinawa, Borneo, during the Vietnam War and allover Southeast Asia. Some of his many honors include a Silver Star, Bronze Stars, and Purple Hearts. In 1968 he received an honorable discharge. Tony then went to work for the State Department for 23 years, which allowed him to travel to numerous countries. Tony received a master’s degree in Computer Engineering while working for the State Department. In 1990 he resigned from the State Department and began working for the Treasury Department (IRS) until 1997 when he retired for health reasons. He was very active and involved in playing bridge. He attended many tournaments, teaching students, started several bridge clubs, and even traveled to Melbourne, Australia to compete in the World Bridge Tournament, where he and his partner placed.
He married the love of his life, Arleen Toren on September 28, 2002. They enjoyed many activities such as hunting, fishing (especially in Holter Lake), camping, spending time with family and friends, traveling, ranching, and each other.
Survivors include his wife, Arleen; stepdaughter, Joann (Robert) Snodgrass; 3 grandchildren, Janelle (Jesse) Patton, Will Snodgrass, and Amber (Josh) VanSetten; 5 great grandchildren, Braden, Natalie, Madison, Molly, and Logan; sister, Diane Morris; 3 nieces and their children, along with other family and many friends.
Tony is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Anthony Morris; mother, Lennie Hayden Morris; brother, Pat Morris; and numerous other relatives.
Memorial donations can be made to the Sletten Cancer Institute, Alzheimer’s Association; or the charity of your choice.
