Douglas Paul Lowrance

Douglas Paul Lowrance, 70, of Conrad MT, passed away on August 28th 2026 due to natural causes. The graveside service and burial will be held at 10am on September 18th at Hillside Cemetery in Conrad, with reception to follow at the Branding Iron for friends and family.

Doug was born in Conrad on January 7th, 1956 to Darrell and Dorothy Lowrance. In 1978 he and Shannon Kelly welcomed Doug's first son, John Vincent, who was later tragically lost in life at a young age. From his first marriage to Lynne Chapman, Doug had three more children. Later he met the love of his life Charlene Wood and enjoyed 19 years together.

Doug started his career with E-line and the Lowrance Company in the oilfield as a teenager and helped operate the family business for many years until he changed careers and went into carpentry. He started JVK Construction and operated that business until he retired. He enjoyed reading and was an avid learner his entire life.

Doug loved his family unconditionally and will be deeply missed. He loved playing pool from the time he was young and played in the Conrad Pool League for many years, along with holding many titles such as team captain and president of the league. Doug learned to ride at a young age and had a passion for motorcycles throughout his life. He truly loved the outdoors and his “Hidey-Hole” that he had created in his yard. Doug very much enjoyed hosting family barbecues and fun games for the grandchildren in the summer with Charlene at their home.

He is survived by his spouse, Charlene Wood; his daughter, Rachael Lowrance (Patrick Jackson); his son, Reese Lowrance (Breanna Christiansen); and son, Lukas Lowrance; nine grandchildren, John, Annessa, Hailey, Tavin, Isabelle, Harper, Rhyett, Kiley, Raylee; along with his sister, Karen Parsons; his ex-wife, Lynne Lowrance; and close family friends, Lester Potter and Dennis Hicks.

He is preceded in death by his first son, John Vincent Kelly Lowrance; his parents, Darrell and Dorothy Lowrance; his brothers, Darrell “Buck” Lowrance and Maynard Dean; along with many other loved ones that he missed dearly. Doug will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery with his son, John, and his parents as he had always wished.
