Vena was born November 25, 1939 in Shelby to Robert “Bud” and Estelle Pogreba.

Survivors include Jay (Jenell) Pogreba of Conrad; sons, Scott (Deanna) of Idaho and Keil (Raine) of North Las Vegas; daughters, Laura (Mark) Schilling of North Las Vegas and Terrie Decker of Great Falls; daughter-in-law, Chris (Michael) Gustave of Montana; multiple grand and great grandchildren.

Vena was preceded in death by her father and mother; brother, Donald; husband, Edward; sons, Edward “Buddy” and Douglas; son-in-law, James Decker; grandson, Tyson Schilling; granddaughter, Tawna Decker.

Vena married the love of her life, Edward, on September 29, 1957.  They chose to raise their family in Shelby where many of the memories created together will be forever cherished by family and friends.  She enjoyed bowling leagues, softball leagues, and camping at Two Medicine.

During her children’s high school years there was not a single neighborhood friend who didn’t get to experience Vena’s famous egg salad sandwiches for lunch!  Her love of cooking and the latest QVC gadgets to assist will be remembered.  Her expertise in sewing and quilting is on display in the quilts that she lovingly created for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Vena’s later years spent in Las Vegas led her down the path of the Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey team.  She was referred to as “Coach” when it came to hockey talk because she was a huge fan and kept up on everything Golden Knights!

No longer with us in her physical state, her spirit lives on with us all.
