Rickey Reagan

November 5, 1938 — May 12, 2021

Browning

"Happy am I from care I am free!  Why aren't they all content like me?"  (Rick Reagan's quote in his '58 Cut Bank High School Senior yearbook.)

Frederick Howard Fiebrantz was born to Nedra (Galbreath) and Frederick Fiebrantz on November 5, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Nedra was a teacher and Frederick was an inventor.  Nedra later married Bob Reagan and then became "Rickey Reagan."  Rickey later became big brother to sisters, Galen "Peeps" and  Rosemary Reagan.

When Nedra and Bob were traveling the racehorse tracks, Rickey's best memories were experienced living with his Grandma Susie (Hudson) and Grandpa JJ on the Galbreath Ranch.  His grandparents were proud of their lil grandson on his bay horse, Jippso, trailing the brood mares down Pescan Point to the corals.

In his grade school years he was taught by his mother, which is where he learned his excellent penmanship.  In his high school years, football Coach Bob Cook liked Rick's hard-nose style of play - rough n tough (did you expect anything less?) In track, Rick ran the 800 & 1600.  He talked about the less than boring travels to/from track meets with the infamous Coach Willie Degroot.

After graduating from high school, Rick and Marlene (Wetzel) were married and blessed with Arden, Susan, Reid, Barbie and Anita.  When they later divorced, the younger three eventually took camp with their Dad.  He started their days with sourdough pancakes, put in long day's work and ended their nights with prayer.  His heart was torn when we lost Susan at the age of 21.

Rick traveled throughout the States and Canada team roping and bull riding.  Some of his honorary cowboys were Bill Devereaux, Beaver Bird, Dave Withers, Doug Gordon, Dick Bundy, Jim Sewald, Denny Loring, Teke Racine, Googs Augare, Jess Galbreath, Terry Onstad, to name a few.

In 1979 he met Myna McDonald in Cut Bank.  By the mid 80's they moved to their homestead outside of Browning, where he spent the rest of his life.  Together they loved to spend time rodeoing, ranching, and could often be found at any sporting event supporting their grandchilren.  He was well known for his humor; always teasing, cracking jokes, and playing tricks on family.  40+ years of annual brandings and family reunions created a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever.

Ranching was his life's ambition.  He was proud of his big stout black & white paint horses and his horned highlander cross red cows.  He taught his kids and grandkids to ride & rope and the brandings were the highlight of the year.

Rick was most proud of his children and grandkids.  Rick’s family believes they wouldn't be where they are today if it weren't for the faith, hard work ethic and integrity he taught them.  We are forever grateful & honored - Arden & John Salazar, Reid & Tammy Reagan, Barbie & Dick Powell, Anita Reagan; grandkids, Franco, Nathaniel & Tenille Salazar & her son, Che Jones, Taylor Louis & her son, Hudson Christensen, Ashley Louis, Robert Reagan and Jada Latray.

He also leaves behind his dearest Myna; her children, Zana, Tim & Sheila, Deena, Sam and Jennifer McDonald; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Rick is also survived by his sister, Rosemary; nieces & nephews; special cousins, Susan Galbreath, Blue & Myrna Galbreath; special friends, Delores Stafford, Lane & Leta Kennedy, Avalon & Blue Man Hall, Joanne & Chuck Tellier; extended family, the Galbreaths, Wetzels, and Harwoods.  Please forgive if any extended family was missed.

People always said Rick was born 100 years too late.  He did things his way and he didn't waiver.  We can all learn from this... "Happy am I from care I am free!  Why aren't they all content like me?"

Services are scheduled for Monday, May 17, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Cut Bank.  Ranch style feed will follow at the Saddle Club.  Please bring your folding chairs to enjoy the expected nice weather.  Cremation has taken place and Rick's ashes will be spread in a private ceremony on Pescan Point at a later date.
