Obituary

Maynard Lee Dean, 71, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at The Ivy Rehabilitation Facility in Great Falls.

Maynard was born January 15, 1951, in Shelby, Montana. He was the son of Robert Paul Dean and Gladys Vivian (Maynard) Dean. Maynard married Karla Wiedeman and they had 3 daughters, Amanda, Melissa, and Katie. He was raised in Cut Bank, where he attended school and resided all his life. He attended mechanical school followed by working many years in the oilfields as a derrickman on drilling rigs, well service rigs, and other types of oilfield employment.

Maynard had multiple interests in life that he enjoyed including camping, hunting, fishing, working on cars, playing his guitars, collecting and trading baseball cards, and playing the “good guy role” with his grandkids and great grandkids. Most of all he loved his LA Dodgers winning (especially against The Astros) or losing, time spent with his family, drinking coffee and visiting with his brother, sister, and friends, and his personal lifelong relationship and belief in God. He was a friend to all and was easy to know and love. One of his family’s favorite qualities was his ability to insure we knew we were loved, unconditionally!

Maynard is survived by his three daughters, (1) Amanda Verner (Seth) their children, Veronica Peitz  (Tracy) their two children, Cole and Kendyl, Cooper Verner, and Grady Verner, (2) Melissa Padilla (Joey) and their children, Monica Barrera (Genaro) and their children, Manuel, Emmalyn, and Julian Barrera, Courtney Nurick (Stephen) and their expected son, Caysen Nurick, Tyler Padilla (Janie) and their girls, Jainalynn and Jocelyn, and (3) Katie Dean; his brother, Paul Dean (Joan), their children, Robert Dean, Christopher Dean (Rosalie) and son, Bradley, Todd Nesbit (Justine) and their children, Thea Cartwright and Christian Nesbit, Brent Nesbit, niece, Andrea Nesbit;  sister, Judy Crabbs, and children, Jeremy Coen (Kalisha)  children, Darian Coen, Shelby Coen, Levi Coen, Madison Coen, Justice Roberts, and Tyler Watkins, Jason Crabbs-Vetter, and Jessica Cox and children, Sheldon Farmer, Katelyn Farmer (Brayden Norman) and their son Makai, Vivian Cox, Junior Cox; his niece, Brandi Wiedeman; his cousins, Karen (Lowrance) Parsons, Doug Lowrance, Janelle Podoll (Rod), Shirley Schmautz; and multiple  extended family members in South Dakota.
