Margaret Ann (Nelson) Graff

Margaret Ann Nelson was born September 2, 1929 to Frank and Minnie (Reed) Nelson in Poplar, Montana.  She went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 4, 2021, in Dodge City, Kansas at age 91.

Margaret attended Poplar schools and graduated from high school in 1947.  After graduation Margaret moved to Bozeman to attend MSU, which is where she met her future husband, Ellsworth Graff from Joplin.

Ellsworth and Margaret were married October 9, 1949, in Havre.  The couple settled in Joplin and took over the family farm and there raised their three children, Greg, Marlin and Glenda.

Margaret was a busy homemaker, Boy Scout leader, skilled seamstress, avid reader, great dancer, staunch Democrat and wicked card player.  All while being a wonderful wife and mother. She was very involved with her church and attended Bible study and women’s circle at Bethel Lutheran Church.

Surviving Margaret are her son, Marlin and wife, Ann Graff, from Hayden, ID; daughter, Glenda and husband, Leroy Woods, from Dodge City, KS; daughter-in-law, Judy Graff from Ft Myers, FL; grandchildren, Brandon Graff, Tandi Wickens, Wes Zielke, and Stacy Millette; and great grandchildren, Tatum Zielke, Madison and Ava Wickens, Logan Graff and Carly and Brody Millette.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; brother, C. R. “Bud” Nelson; sister, Jean Hagen; husband, Ellsworth; and son, Greg.

There will be a graveside service for Margaret at Joplin Cemetery sometime this summer.
