Lynn R. Weaver

September 5, 1949 — June 1, 2021

Cut Bank

Lynn Richard Weaver, 71, passed away on June 1, 2021, of natural causes in his hometown of Cut Bank.  He was born in Cut Bank on September 5, 1949, to Don and Colleen Weaver.   A memorial and celebration of life is scheduled for Friday, June 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at St Margaret Catholic Church in Cut Bank, followed by the committal and military honors at Crown Hill Cemetery.  A reception for family and friends will follow at Randy Weaver’s place, 313 1st Ave SE in Cut Bank.

Lynn was born and raised in Cut Bank and graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1967.  In his high school years, Lynn excelled in track but his real love was baseball.  Once he graduated, he enlisted in the Army under the Buddy Program.  He completed his basic training at Fort Lewis, Washington and received orders for Viet Nam.  Unfortunately, just prior to leaving, he was seriously injured and unable to fulfill his desire to serve his country.

Returning to Cut Bank, Lynn worked as a diesel mechanic for his dad’s business, Anderson Implement, which later became Weaver Equipment.  Later the Implement took over the operations of a farm and Lynn worked the cattle end of it. Lynn, until the day he passed, felt ALL farm equipment should be John Deere green.  Along the way, he met Gloria and after dating for four years was married on September 4, 1974. They were content raising Gloria’s three sons but God had other plans and blessed them with twin sons.  After the Implement was sold, Lynn eventually went to work for the County Road Department as a truck driver, which he loved, for over 20 years.

In his younger years, Lynn loved being involved in community activities.  Soon after returning home from the service, he joined the Cut Bank Saddle Club and with his close friend, Jim Guith, helped organize and run the O-Mok-See events.  Needless to say, the family spent many evenings at the saddle club creating wonderful memories.  Jim and Lynn eventually became president and vice-president of the Saddle Club.  During this time, they were asked by the Chamber of Commerce to help plan and organize the first Lewis and Clark Day parade.  For 13 years, the two had a blast travelling the tri-county area and into Canada enrolling participants in the parade and of course having their fair share of their favorite beer.  The Weaver family was involved in horse racing and Lynn loved being able to help with the horses and attend all the races.

In his later years, rain, snow or shine, you would often find Lynn out for his daily joy ride throughout the countryside with either Gloria or Hank & Charlie, (Hank’s beloved dog) at the wheel.  It was almost like his way of remembering times gone by and all the wonderful memories he had growing up in Cut Bank.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gloria and their sons and their families:  Steve Weaver, Herbie Weaver, Chad Weaver and Cory Weaver; Steve’s wife Jana and their children, Tyler, Lexi, Tanner, Cody, and Kyle; Herb’s children Jeremiah & Jessie; Chad’s wife Shawnda and their children, Riley and Kinley; and several great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers and their spouses: Donnie Weaver and children, Brian (son, Cody), Lori (Brett, Brooke, Bridger, and Brynlee), and Kimberly, Randy and Rhonda Weaver, Hank and Rhonda Weaver; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Weaver; his parents, Don and Colleen Weaver; sisters-in-law, Gayle Tibbets, Bonnie Weaver, and Carolyn Barnes; and grandparents, Lynn and Ethel Hatton, Mart and Addie Weaver.
