Obituary

Juanita Suta, 88, farmer/rancher wife and mother, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, March 14, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side at her granddaughter’s home in Kalispell.

Juanita was born in Great Falls to Gertie and Bill Cook.  She was raised in Shelby with her 3 brothers, Ivan, Jack, and Herb.  Juanita attended school in Shelby and met the love of her life, Louis Suta.  They were married in 1952 and moved to the Suta Family farm.  To this union four sons and one daughter were born.  Louis and Juanita bought the Pedersen farm in 1971 where they farmed and raised cattle, chickens, rabbits, horses, buffalo, and their five children, Leslie, Terry, Jim, Mary Ann, and Richie.

Juanita was a homemaker and belonged to the Northern Toole County Home Demonstration Club.  Juanita was a self-taught artist, she loved drawing and painting pictures, and doing crafts with her daughter and granddaughters in her spare time.  Juanita loved to cook and bake, especially during the holidays where her family would gather for the best holiday dinners.  She made wedding cakes and beautiful birthday cakes too.  Juanita loved her children and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She valued her family, always putting them first.

Survivors include sons, Jim (Elaine) of Cut Bank, Mary Ann (Bruce) of Valier, and Richie (Pam) of Sunburst; daughter-in-law, Val Suta; twelve grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers; husband; and 2 eldest sons, Leslie and Terry.

Funeral services will be held in Sunburst and interred at the Sweetgrass Cemetery at later date.
