Dorothy Katherine (Dottie) Moss, 77 passed away August 30, 2019 in Seattle Washington.  She was born August 14, 1942 in Shelby Mt. to Orville and Katherine (Breuer) Aschim.

Dottie grew up at the base of West Butte here she lived with her family on the Bow and Arrow Ranch. Dottie attended O’Loughlin country school, Sunburst middle school and graduated from North Toole County High School in 1960.

It was at NTCHS that Dottie met the love of her life Bill Moss. After graduation Dottie attended nursing school in Great Falls, Mt. in August of 1961 Bill and Dottie were married at the Lutheran Church of Sunburst.  They settled in Billings while Bill continued his education and played baseball for Rocky Mountain College. Dottie developed her love of baseball early while cheering Bill on in those days.

Dottie and Bill eventually made their home in Anchorage, Alaska where Bill taught JR high school and Dottie worked in the business sector for Montgomery Wards, JC Penney and finally Spenard Builders Supply as its Corporate Credit Officer.

Dottie and Bill had two children Kim and Jade Moss.

In 1987 the Moss family moved back to Montana living first in Bigfork and then moving to Sunburst in 1989. Dottie continued to work for Americana Brokerage and AN Derringer in Sweet Grass, Mt.

Dottie loved people and as a result she never met a stranger. Her kindness and great sense of humor put people at ease and made them feel special.  Dottie enjoyed having people for coffee, cookies or a dinner; no matter the reason, when you went to Dottie’s you were treated like family. Dottie loved being outdoors working on her yard and tending her flowers and garden.

Dottie was a Refiner Nation fan and attended as many games as she could watching her “kids” play volleyball, basketball and football.

Dottie was a member of the Lutheran Church of Sunburst and over the years served on many committees and in many rolls. Dottie lived her faith every day she believed in putting others before herself and worked hard to help those in need through Lutheran World Relief and World Hunger. If Dottie saw you needed something, Dottie saw you got it.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Katie Aschim, Brother Bob Aschim, sister in law Bonnie Aschim and niece Katie Aschim.

Dottie is survived by Husband Bill Moss and daughter Kim Moss, Sunburst. Son Jade Moss (Katrina) of Anchorage, AK.  Granddaughters Katie, Kylie and Brenna and Great Granddaughter Brooklyn as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

The Family of Dottie suggest any memorials should be made to Lutheran World Relief or Lutheran World Hunger.
