Coby S Epperson

May 2, 1993 — June 20, 2013

Our beloved son Coby Shane Epperson died June 20, 2013 due to injury on the job. He was born May 2, 1993 and just turned 20 only a month before. Coby graduated from Sunburst High School in 2011 and went right to work for Al’s Diesel. He later moved to Oregon to work with his Uncle Abijah in construction. Coby tried to love the city, but he was a country boy at heart. He moved back to Montana in March of this year and began working for Somont Oil in Oilmont.

He was one of our most treasured gifts from our God Jehovah. There are no words to express the hole that was left in our hearts, the hearts of our family, our friends, his friends, and the community. His life ended far too early and we are struggling to understand how this has happened. Coby was described by one of his friends like this, “Nobody didn’t like Coby.” Even if he did something that made you mad, you could not stay mad for long.  He was a never ending jokester. He loved to play pranks. His laughter was infectious. He WAS the “Child Whisperer”.  He was always ready to lend a hand, be supportive, and love you unconditionally. If Coby was your friend, he was your friend. The love he felt for his family was palpable. His loyalty, love and respect for his family were firm.

Coby is survived by his parents, Darwin & Cassaundra (Nation) Epperson; two brothers, Greg Bowling and Austin Epperson (girlfriend Nicole Sasek); Coby’s Fiance’ Jessica Bailly; grandparents Rollye & Gail (Harden) Nation; and great-grandmother Lois Harden. Coby had a very large family and extended family with far too many to list but all of them very significant to his life.  He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents, Max and Betty Epperson; grandparents, Viola Denver and Chuck Epperson; maternal great-grandfather, Clifford Harden; and great-grandmother and grandfather, Rita and Leon Nation.

Funeral services will be held at the Shelby High School Auditorium on Saturday June 29, 2013 at 2p.m.  There will be a potluck BBQ to follow at Williamson Park (Marias River Campground).  Later that evening there will also be a bonfire. Coby loved Ford Trucks, so we ask if you have any Ford apparel to wear it to the BBQ/Bonfire.
