Cleo D. (Aakre) Everhard

Cleo Darlene (Aakre) Everhard, 78, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Pondera Medical Center.

Memorial services will be Friday, June 7, at 1:00PM at Pondera Valley Lutheran Church.

Cleo was born August 6, 1940 to Henry and Lois Aakre in Conrad.  She married Robert Scott right out of high school.  They made their home in Conrad and had two children; Rita and Michael.  After 25 years of marriage they divorced, and Cleo moved to Helena.  She met and married Gary Everhard and they had one child, Rebecca.

Cleo had many jobs through her life. She worked at the Pondera Treasurer Office and Montana State Liquor Store. Cleo was a teacher’s aide at Conrad Public Schools and loved working with children. Her last job was at the Conrad Super 8 Motel where she worked at the Breakfast Bar and enjoyed visiting and getting to know new people.

Cleo enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with her family, and bowling on Conrad Women’s League.  She was an avid card player and was involved with two different bridge clubs and played pinochle at the Senior Center.  Cleo’s greatest joy was watching her grandchildren in all their endeavors.

Survivors include her children, Rita (Clinton) Erickson of Great Falls, Mike (Suzie) Scott of Pataskala, OH, and Rebecca Everhard of Conrad; 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brother, Jim Aakre of Conrad; sister, Jean Bryant of Oak Harbor, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cleo’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Pondera Medical Center and Hospice for the loving and professional care that Cleo received and to all the friends that "revolving door" visits made her time comfortable and entertaining.  A special thank you to the Conrad Community Cancer Fund for their generous support.
