Clella Rose Bykonen

February 18, 1948 — May 3, 2019

Shelby

Clella Rose Bykonen, 71, of Shelby, passed away on May 3, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10th at the Living Faith Baptist Church in Shelby.

She was born in Shelby on February 18, 1948 to Donald and Alva Marsh. She was raised with her siblings; Sharon, Alfred, Darryl and Bobby. She attended school and graduated from Shelby High school in 1966. On November 26, 1966 she married the love of her life, David Bykonen. They were blessed with their three children; Dena, Brenda and Scott Bykonen. Clella stayed home to take care of the children. David says she was the most “wonderful housewife and mother” As the children grew, they moved around frequently but settled back down in Shelby. Then her life changed when her greatest joys began to enter the world, her grandchildren. She played a significant role in the upbringing of all her nine grandchildren. Being with her grandchildren was her happy place. Just when her grandchildren believed they were her greatest joy, they started having babies, giving Clella her great grandchildren who really were her greatest joys.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandma, great grandma and friend. She was so many things to so many people and meant the world to her family. She had a heart of gold with a little bit of spice. Her legacy is the love she showed and taught her family.

She is survived by her husband, David; children, Dena (Jay) Wells, Brenda Mallo, and Scott (Jess) Bykonen; grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Mallo, Brandon (Becca) Mallo, Shane (Krissy) Bykonen, Lacy (Jarod) Ruud, Justin (Hanna) Mallo, Shannon Bykonen, Miranda Wells, Trevor Wells and Travis (Rachel) Wells; great grandchildren, Kayoda, Thackery, Trista Sue, Stella, Dahlia, Camden, Ember, Athena, Cooper, Micah, Jaxson and Nellie.

We hope you are up there dancing, laughing and looking down with pride. WE LOVE YOU!
