Bronc Peterman

April 26, 1938 — June 1, 2023

Conrad

Donald “Bronc” Peterman was born in Wood Lake, MN on April 26, 1938. He was the 11th of 13 children born to Herbert and Milly Peterman. He passed away peacefully on June 1" following a short illness.

Bronc was educated in MN until the end of 9th grade when he quit school to join the work force. In November of 1956 he moved to Montana to be with several older brothers. He arrived in Conrad, during a blizzard, just in time for Thanksgiving dinner. Soon after he met Lucille "Cec" Brophy of Valier. They married on July 1", 1958. They were blessed with three children. He worked at several jobs in Conrad before joining his brothers as a mill wright. They worked independently for many years until the early 1980’s when they went to work exclusively for Cargill.

The summer of 1981 Bronc and Cec discovered the beautiful Seeley-Swan Valley. July of 1986, they purchased two and a half acres in Condon, MT. It was here that Bronc fulfilled a dream of building his own house. This house is affectionately called the "cabin". Many wonderful memories have been made in this little piece of paradise.

Bronc enjoyed camping, fishing, wood cutting and making small pieces of furniture. He took great pride in his house, flowers and beautiful lawn. On any Sunday during the fall months, he could be found sitting in his favorite chair, drinking a cold beer or two or three, eating smoked fish and or peanuts while watching the NFL.

Bronc was blessed with the gift of gab. He could walk up to a total stranger and have a 30-minute conversation. He kindled many friendships through hard work, such as helping build sheds, garages, replacing roofing and cutting firewood. We are going to miss his mischievous smile, his little laugh and the twinkle in his eye.

Bronc was preceded in death by his wife, Cec; his daughter, Linda; his parents; and all of his siblings, 7 brothers and 5 sisters.

He is survived by his two sons, Paul {Mary} and Dale {Tracey} both of Conrad; his five grandchildren, Steven {Kristin} Peterman of Billings, Amy {Chad} Stevenson of East Helena, Robert Peterman, Sara {Riley} DeVries and Katie Peterman all of Conrad; seven great grandchildren, Kennadie, Kalli, and Kenzly Peterman all of Billings, Allison Peterman, Madison, Brent and Chloe DeVries all of Conrad; five sister-in-laws, Dorothy Wardner and Rose Marie Peterman of Conrad, Billie Bagley of Rapid City, SD, Pat {Dale} Flinders of East Helena and "Mugs" {Ernest} Mains of Oshkosh, Wl; numerous nieces and nephews; and his very special friends, Roger Elings and Jim Mandarino.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Beehive Home assisted living for their tender loving care of our dad, grandpa and Papa Bronc for the past 14 months. He loved all of you and you became part of his family.
