Blanche Ora (Poppler) Anderson passed away at Liberty County Medical Center- Hospital on July 27, 2020 6:37 pm. Blanche was 98 years and 215 days old.

Blanche was born December 26, 1921, in Alma Montana at the family homestead 30 miles North of Joplin, the sixth of seven children born to Benjamin and Ruth (Knutson) Poppler. She was named after Blanche Wolery the midwife that brought her into the world.

After the sudden death of her sister Sarah, A senior in high school to spinal meningitis in December of 1927. Ben and Ruth would buy another farm three miles North of Joplin to be closer to town. Blanche would live there and go to school in Joplin grades 1-12. She was on the student council, played basketball and was Valedictorian of the class of 1940.

She married Russell Anderson o November 1, 1941. They moved to Seattle, Washington in 1942 where Russ worked for the Boeing Corporation. They moved back to the family farm in Rudyard to make their home and raise their family. They bought another farm in 1965 in Saskatchewan and farmed on both sides of the border.

Blanche was a lifetime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Rudyard. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and watch a good movie. She was known for her exceptional cooking and beautiful flowers. She looked forward to watching March Madness and the Masters Golf Tournament every year.

Russ and Blanche were avid bowlers in the Hi-Line Leagues. After Russ passed away on November 7, 1978. Blanche enjoyed traveling to New York for Broadway plays and many scenic trips around the country.

In 1989 Blanche would reunite with childhood friend Mary Wardell Stillwell for many memorable trips. Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Costa Rican Rainforest, and trips around the United States. Blanche loved her family and friends and was dearly loved by them.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Brother Earl “Bud” Poppler; Four sisters, Sarah, Joyce, Laura Poppler, Lucille Poppler Thorson.

Blanche is Survived by her children, Russell (Esther) Lynn Anderson of Rudyard, Sherry (Jim) Anderson Edwards; Granddaughter Jennifer Elliott all of Nebraska; Sister Loraine Poppler Brickman of Florida.

Blanche was always thankful to her daughter-in-law, Esther, for the many years of kind, loving care she gave Blanche to enable her to stay at home.

Thanks to the Liberty Medical Center nursing staff and Tim Blair for the very special end of life care they gave to Blanche.
