Billy “Bill” Gene Pate, 79, passed Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Bill was born December 21, 1940 in Obion, TN to Archie and Adelle Pate.  He was raised in Obion, TN and Granville, WI and finished his education in Menomonee Falls, WI. Bill enlisted into the US Air Force in 1959. At his honorable discharge in 1979, he was a Vietnam Veteran and Master Sargent, and worked in the USAF Security Forces.  Bill was employed at Super Value, Van Motors, and many years with the US Postal Service.

Bill and his daughter, Kelly, joined families with Deborah J. Paulsen Seidler and her children, Kourtney and Travis, when they married on April 4, 1987. After moving to Conrad, Bill was a member of the VFW and American Legion Posts and the Conrad Moose Lodge.

All his life, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and drinking coffee.

He is preceded in death by wife, Deborah Pate; daughter, Kelly Willard; brother, Bud; and his parents.

Survivors include brother, William Ronald (Mary) of Wauwatosa, WI; sisters, Juanita (Gene) Loeffler of Jupier, FL, Carol Schrank of Slinger, WI, and Janice (Gary) Bloedorn of West Virginia; sisters-in-law, Janet Pate and Cindie Vandenberg; grandchildren, Jessica Torrey, of Olean, NY, Joshua (Jonquil) Willard and Kaylea Willard both of Hampton, VA; great granddaughters, Jerilyn and Sienna Torrey; step-children, Kourtney Combs and Travis Seidler and their families; and his nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Sat, June 27, at the Pondera Funeral Home and laid to rest with military honors in Hillside Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Pondera County community for all the assistance and condolences they received during their stay in Conrad. “I can see why my brother lived here,” his brother, Ron, stated.
