Beverly Jean Rogers

October 12, 1940 — March 28, 2020

Shelby

Beverly Jean Rogers, 79, of Shelby, went to be with the Lord on Saturday March 28, 2020 at the Northern Rockies Medical Center in Cut Bank after a brief illness.

Bev was born October 12, 1940 in Great Falls to Virgil and Frances (Wheeler) Yerigan.   She was raised in Cut Bank.  She and her older sister, Tamera, medaled on the swim team, were in Rainbow Girls and helped with their grandmother’s boardinghouse.

On November 1958 she married Stanley Rogers. The couple lived on the farm north east of Shelby and later in Shelby where they raised their 4 children.  In 1977 they moved back to the farm. Stan passed away in 2000 and 11 years later, Bev moved to Shelby.  In 2016 she moved into the Marias Heritage Center where she remained until the time of her death.

Bev enjoyed being a leader of Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and Brownies.  She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, working in her greenhouse, and her pickled beets were the best.

One of her greatest pleasures was teasing which she did until the end.

Bev was comforted after her husband’s death by grief counseling with Pastor Joe of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

She came to know and love her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She was a member of the St Luke’s Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school, was a member of the church council and was involved in the Latch Key program. She traveled yearly to Billings to attend the Women of Faith where she loved to worship with the ladies of her family.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; great grandson, Austin; and son-in-law, George Den Boer.

She is survived by her children, Cheri (Glenn) Robertson of Helena, Chris (Gary) Quenzer of Cut Bank, Cindy Lowry of Choteau, and Wayne (Brenda) Rogers of Shelby; her sister Tamera Brothers of Great Falls; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous  nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 19, at 1pm at Mountain View Cemetery.
