Beverly Ann (Martinson) Dahl

November 28, 1937 ~ October 28, 2021 (age 83)

Beverly Ann (Martinson) Dahl, 83, of Great Falls, went to be home with the Lord on October 28, 2021. Beverly was born in Conrad and spent her childhood with seven siblings, her father Antone, and mother Ingrid, whom she all loved deeply. As a child she loved to visit her dad and brothers on their job sites while building homes. Asking them if they needed any help one time, her brother, Art, told her to "go to the hardware store and pick up a sky hook;" so off she went, later returning disappointed that "nobody in town has a sky hook." She met her husband, Dennis Dahl, while working in a shoe store. They married in 1955. After a few years together in Conrad, they moved to Great Falls and raised their three children: Deborah, Douglas, and Steven.

Beverly’s love for cooking came from her mother, Ingrid, whom she believed “was the best cook ever.” Her family has fond memories growing up and enjoying home-made stews, casseroles, salads, Scandinavian cookies, Norwegian lefsa, pies, and other confections. She outdid herself when baking sweets, usually making multiple kinds of cookies, pies, candies and cakes at one time. Her husband Dennis enjoyed her baking the most, often having a full slice of each pie when there were more than one kind available. Relatives and friends could look forward to receiving a Christmas cookie box every year from Bev that had no less than seven varieties of home-made cookies in each. Beverly also loved camping and made sure to bring all the comforts of home with her, including a full smorgasbord of food that could feed a small army and the vacuum cleaner for the outdoor rugs when they got dirty.

Bev was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Great Falls where she enjoyed fellowship, worship and serving on a committee as well as dishing up some of her baked goods.

Beverly is preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Dennis; daughter, Debbie Betsch; brothers, Elmo and Art; sisters, Shirley Clark and Charmaine Omholt.

Beverly is survived by sons, Douglas Dahl (Robin Beavers) of Great Falls and Steven Dahl (Shelley) of Three Forks, MT; brother, Curtis Martinson (Bonnie); sister, Connie Fretheim; brother, David Martinson (Mary); and sister-in-law, Gert Martinson; as well as 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A cremation has taken place and service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran in Great Falls, MT November 13th, 2021, at 3:00 pm.
