Alice Bach

November 14, 1935 ~ May 17, 2020 (age 84)

Alice J. Bach left us peacefully Sunday, May 17, in Chester. She will be greatly missed by her children, Kristi Thisselle, Wayne Thisselle (Lita), Jon Thisselle, Lynnette Anderson; her brother, Bud Broadhurst; her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, her many friends, and anyone else that called her Mom or Grandma.

She was born in Chester on November 14, 1935 to Joseph Austin and Myrtle (Berg) Broadhurst and grew up running barefoot on the family farm. Her early adulthood was met with marriage to Stanley “Pudge” Thisselle living again on a farm raising children, gardens, chickens, and cows. A divorce and a move to Fort Benton, lead her to a new chapter and marriage to Bernard Bach. The two did almost everything together, including gardening, painting houses, and playing with grandchildren. They eventually fulfilled their dreams by building a log cabin in the mountains near Monarch, where they lived until Bernie passed. Cabin life became too difficult to maintain, so a dear friend helped her move to Belt, and then eventually back home to Chester.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Glora; husband(s), Stanley Thisselle and Bernard Bach; sons, Loren and Douglas Thisselle; and grandson, Eric Keith.

Cremation has taken place.  An informal gathering is scheduled for Friday, June 12 at 11:00 am in the City Park in Chester.  For the safety of those who wish to attend, there will be no refreshments served, and social distancing is required. For your own comfort, you are encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs.  If you are high risk, please stay safe at home and instead remember Alice by sharing memories with friends and family.  Interment of a portion of her ashes will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Benton.

Any memorials may be made to your local food bank.
