It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Taylor Austin Combs in a vehicle accident. He left this world far too soon at the age of 28. Taylor was known for his big hugs, caring heart, and the unforgettable stories he loved to share. His warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him, and his presence brought joy and comfort to family and friends alike.
Born in Shelby, Montana, in August of 1997, to Chris Combs and Casey Pohlman, Taylor grew up surrounded by love and laughter Taylor was also blessed to have Alan Pohlman as a devoted stepfather, whose guidance and support were a cherished part of Taylor’s life.
Taylor was involved and loved FFA growing up. His favorite part was being able to drive tractors or anything else with 2 to 4 wheels. He enjoyed playing farming simulator during his down times.
Taylor really loved his nieces and nephews. He was always up to taking them for rides on the 4-wheelers and creating fun memories. Taylor also had a love for anything with a motor. Whether he was admiring his grandpa’s old truck or working as a talented tire technician, he found joy and adventure in every engine’s roar from 2-stroke V-8 to a 600cc. His passion for vehicles was matched only by the excitement he brought to those around him.
Taylor may have wandered across many a landscape and over countless rolling hills, but he always knew in his heart that those journeys were simply leading him back to where he was most loved. He found his true and lasting peace not in any specific physical place, but wherever his family was for that is, and always will be, his home.
Taylor is survived by his loving family, Chris Combs (father), Casey Pohlman (mother), Alan Pohlman (stepfather), siblings: David Jeppesen, Neesha Pohlman, Aaron Pohlman, and Michael Pohlman, as well as many friends and family including aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Cap Proffitt and Mary J. Combs. Taylor held fond memories with each of his grandparents, cherishing the special moments and lessons they shared with him throughout his life.
A memorial service to celebrate Taylor’s life will be held on November 8, 2025 at Asper Funeral Home in Shelby at 2:00 p.m. with a reception following at the Comfort Inn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to FFA (Future Farmers of America ) – https://www.ffa.org/ways-to-giv/ honor of Taylor’s caring spirit.
Taylor will be remembered for his big hugs, his caring heart, his love of motorcycles and old trucks, and the stories that brought people laughter. May his memory be a blessing and his spirit live on in all who loved him.
