Shirley Mae (Hale) Salois, 81, of Cut Bank, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes at the Northern Rockies Medical Center on December 29, 2017.

Shirley was born on November 1, 1936 in Valier to W.P. Hale and Chloe (Mitchell) Hale.  She was the youngest of nine children.  She graduated from Valier High School and later moved to Conrad.  While living in Conrad she was set up on a blind date that would turn out to be the love of her life, Raymond Salois.  They were married on November 5, 1960.  They moved to Cut Bank and were married 55 wonderful years.  They had two daughters and were blessed with four grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Shirley was “that mom”. Her kids were in numerous activities and she was always there to lend a helping hand in whatever her kids were involved in.  She loved following her grandkids in anything they did.  She enjoyed trips to the mountains and golfing with friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by daughters, Karla (Andy) Harvie of Cut Bank and Karen (Tony) Anton of Villa Park, Illinois; grandchildren, Allie Anton of Stockholm, Sweden, Taylor Harvie of Great Falls, Jace (Tylee) Harvie of Augusta; and one great granddaughter, Thea also of Augusta; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Jim Nelson of Valier and Don Bonahoom of Great Falls; and sister-in-law, Mabel Hale of Cut Bank.

She is preceded in death by her parents, W.P. and Chloe; husband, Raymond Salois; sisters, Frances Shephard Guy, Iva Vermulm, Gynell Bonahoom, Della Hitchcock, and Dessa Nelson; and brothers, Lee Hale, Jesse Hale, and Raymond Hale.
