Shirley Bebich, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 95. Born on January 22, 1930, in Great Falls, Montana, Shirley was the cherished daughter of Nels and Selma Midboe.
She spent her childhood in Shelby, where she graduated from Shelby High School. It was there that she began forming the foundations of a life defined by compassion, creativity, and unwavering faith.
On November 23, 1963, Shirley married Steve Bebich, with whom she shared over 60 years of love and companionship.
Shirley had a lifelong passion for needlework and quilting, talents she shared generously with those she loved. Her hands were seldom still, always stitching warmth and care into every project. In addition to her artistry, she shared her heart through ministry, dedicating two years of service at the local prison alongside a faithful group, bringing hope and encouragement to those in need.
She was known to all for her caring disposition and steadfast love. Her gentle presence, generous spirit, and quiet strength left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Selma Midboe; her brother, James; and sisters, Ione and Delores. She is survived by her devoted husband, Steve Bebich; her children, Michael, Mark, Jennifer, and Paul; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love.
Shirley’s memory will be forever treasured, and her life remembered as one of grace, service, and deep affection for her family and community.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 11, at 10:00 am at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby.
A reception at The Shelby Carousel will be held following the burial.
