Sandra "Sandie" Lee Schmidt, of Shelby, passed away suddenly at her home June 24th, 2019.
A Memorial service will be held August 1st at 11 am at the Whitted Funeral Chapel and burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
A reception at the Coyote Club will follow the burial.
Sandie was born in Idaho on October 3rd, 1939 to Mildred and Neil Byers.
Sandie was an extravagant, creative and beautiful woman. She loved to sew, knit, decorate and make her ideas come to life. She was an amazing baker and was very creative in creating new dishes to try. She was most known for her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls.
Sandie was an avid collector. She had an eclectic collection of collectibles in her home, but hummingbirds, dolls, and cookie jars were some top favorites. She loved reading, music and loved to dance. Some favorite musicians were Ferlin Husky and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Sandie loved her house. Her house was her mansion and knew she never wanted to live anywhere else.
Sandie loved helping others family to friends. Many people in the community were lucky enough to not only be friends with her but also witness her generosity. She had a huge soft spot for pets, not just her own. She was known to spoil even strays that stopped by. Her own pets were treated like her children and loved greatly.
Most of all Sandie loved her family. From her kids to her great grandchildren she was so happy to be included in their lives.
Sandie is leaving behind her husband of 41 years, Richard Schmidt; children, Pam Criddle, Kim Wilding, Tara (Ray) Musall, Neil Wilding, Michelle (Jeff) Metcalf, Gerald Sturges, Sandy (Jim) Brandt; many grandchildren, Tony Criddle, Mandy Valentine, Holly Pingel, Kaitlyn Wilding, TJ(Maggie) Harshbarger, Tiffany Hawley, Shad (Heather)Metcalf, Jaran Metcalf, Shayla Metcalf and Zach Metcalf, Majesta Thorndike, Desiree Brandt and Samantha Brandt, and Heather Shama Marie Sturges; great grandchildren, Ezekial and Izaac Valentine, Ryker Gerber, Madison Criddle, Daylen and Timber Pingel, Brandon Harshbarger, Tanner, Tyler and Trenton Hawley, Harper Kelley and Carson Gibson; brother, Harvey Byers and his 4 sons and families.
Preceding her in death is parents, Mildred & Delbert Parker, Neil and Phyllis Byers; son-in-law, Clark Criddle; great grandson, John Harlo Criddle; and a brother, Donald Byers
