Rose Monroe

Rose Monroe, 84, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the PMC Extended Care following a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.

Rosary services will be Monday, February 10, at 6:15pm followed by vigil services at 7pm. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, February 11, at 11:00 AM. All services will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Rose was born to Mike and Katherine (Schiele) Bachmeier on November 1, 1935 in Orrin, ND.  She moved to Conrad in January 1956 and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital.  She met her husband, Bob Monroe, at the Valentines Dance in February and they married on November 14, 1956.  They farmed in the Valier area where they raised their 8 children.  In 2000, they retired and moved their home to Conrad where Rose enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, puzzles, walking & reading.

Rose is survived by her husband, Bob; sons, Don (Roxann) Monroe; Duane (Jamie) Monroe; daughters, Pam Nadeau; Ruth (Craig Swanson) Davis; Julie (Scott) Stevenson; Patty (Bruce) Broesder; Maureen (Stacy Estey) Bryan; & Kathy (Wade) DeBoo; 8 grandsons; 11 granddaughters; and 13 great grandchildren; her sister, Margaret DeVoogdt; and brothers, Leo Bachmeier and Louie (Hanna) Bachmeier.   She was preceded in death by her parents and 6 siblings.
