Richard W. Humble

July 17, 1925 — February 19, 2017

Richard William “Dick” Humble, 91, died on February 19, 2017 at his home in Cut Bank.

Dick was born July 17, 1925 in Spokane, Washington to William and Minnie Humble.  He joined two older sisters, Mary Ellen and Wilma.  The family move to back Cut Bank in 1930. Dick attended school in Cut Bank and graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1944.  He went to college for a short time in Missoula and moved to California to work in the shipyards until the war was over.  Eventually he moved back to Cut Bank to help his father on the family farm.  He married Alice Eckley on May 20, 1949.  They enjoyed almost 68 years together.  Dick bought the Phillips 66 bulk plant in 1952. He later sold the business in 1977 and worked for Pat Simons for approximately 13 years.  Dick and Alice had a small farm and ranch where they raised cattle, sheep, and a few horses.  Dick was an excellent dancer and he and Alice danced a lot! He also enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and horseback riding.  Dick was a member of the Cut Bank Chamber of Commerce, the Elks and Moose Clubs, and the Cut Bank Presbyterian Church.

Richard and Alice had three children; Nina, Murry, and Beth; five grandchildren, Roger, Lucas, Storm, Alic, and Marlee; two great grandchildren, Justin and Kaya.

Richard was much loved and will certainly be missed.
