Peter J Wurz, 74, the secretary and treasurer for Rimrock Hutterite Colony, passed away Friday, November 25, at Benefis Healthcare in Great Falls due to cancer. Funeral services will be Monday, November 28, at 12 noon at the Rimrock Colony with burial to follow in the colony cemetery. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Peter was born September 17, 1937 to Jacob and Elizabeth (Wipf) Wurz at Warner, Alberta where he grew up and was educated. He then moved to the Hillside Colony near Sweet Grass. He and Anna Hofer were married on June 15, 1960 at the Hillside Colony. They then moved to the Rimrock Colony near Sunburst.
Peter is survived by his wife, Anna, of Rimrock Colony; and his children, Peter Wurz, Jack (Katherine) Wurz, Joe (Teresa) Wurz, Ben (Debbie) Wurz, Jon (Julia) Wurz, Lydia (George) Hofer, Rebecca (Walter) Hofer, all of Rimrock Colony, and Julia (Arnie) Wurz, of Zenith Colony. He is also survived by 4 sisters and 1 brother as well as 36 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 6 sisters, 3 brothers, and 5 grandchildren.
