Pat May

July 5, 1954 — December 7, 2017

Patrick Liam May, 63, of Salinas, California died of natural causes at his home on December 7, 2017.

Pat was born July 5, 1954, in Conrad, Mt. to William and Elizabeth May.  He was a 1972 graduate of Conrad High School and received an Associate’s Degree from the Helena Vocational School of Electronics as well an Associate degree from DeVry University.

Pat worked over 35 years as a technician and engineer for a variety of companies throughout the West coast and was well respected for his expertise in RF technology.

Pat was an extremely kind, soft spoken, polite and gentle man.  He could express so much, while saying very little.  He had an incredible sense of humor and wit, and at the same time wore his heart on his sleeve.

He loved his family more than anything, always putting family members before himself. An incredibly hard worker, Pat spent what little time off he had traveling to see his father and brothers.

Pat was an avid music lover as well as an accomplished keyboardist. He was particularly passionate about analog synthesis and had a vast technical knowledge surrounding it.  He loved collecting vintage synthesizers and continued to expand his expertise of analog synthesis throughout his life.   He loved all genres of music, with a great fondness for the bands Emerson, Lake, and Palmer and The Moody Blues. He attended as many of their performances as he possibly could.  At last count, he had seen the Moody Blues 58 times.

Pat will always be remembered as an incredible son, “big” brother, and for his love of family.

He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth “Betty” May and his brother William James May, Jr..  He is survived by his brothers, Christopher (Frankie) May, Oxnard, CA, Michael (Molly) May, Spokane, WA, nephew Michael P. May (Stefanie), Seattle, WA, niece Katie May, Bellingham, WA

Memorial mass with his father, Bill May, will be held Saturday, February 3, at 2:00PM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Patrick’s name to Pondera Medical Center Extended Life Enrichment Program, P.O. Box 668, Conrad, MT 5942
