Pamela Ann (Newman) Murray

March 23, 1962 — June 4, 2022

Cut Bank

Pamela Ann Newman Murray, beloved daughter, wife, mother & grandmother, passed away on June 4th, 2022 at the age of 60 surrounded by her loving family after a 3 year hard fought battle with ovarian cancer.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday June 23, 2022 at 1pm at the Canvas Church in Cut Bank with reception to follow at the Joe Meagher Memorial Civic Center.

Pam was born in Cut Bank on March 23rd, 1962.  She was the youngest of 3 children of James and Barbara Newman.  She attended school in Cut Bank and graduated in 1980. After graduation she went to Kinman Business College in Spokane and got a certificate in accounting experience & executive secretary degree.  She moved back to Cut Bank and started her career at Union 76 in 1981 and she experienced several changes in ownership from Mercury, Quicksilver, SOG Resources and currently New Horizon Oil and Gas in her 41-year career. Pam was very hard working, driven and dedicated and was still working right up until about 1 week before her passing.

In December 1983 she married the love of her life and soul mate, Scott Murray.  They were partners in life and did everything together. Scott and Pam raised their 3 children Josh, Travis & Sarah in Cut Bank.  She loved spending time with her family by taking camping trips and swimming in Lake McDonald or going on family vacations. She loved her grandchildren, and they were the light of her life and as she had humorously displayed in her house “my kids accuse me of having a favorite child, which is ridiculous because I don’t like any of them, my grandkids are my favorite”. She always had fun projects to do with them and loved passing down her love and skills of arts and crafts.

Pam was very active in her community and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  She was a big supporter of 4-H and was the treasurer and previously helped with the 4-H food booth.  She also enjoyed helping at Canvas Church. She also had many hobbies and loved to garden with Scott, even winning yard of the week in 2021. Her favorite hobby was card making, and she was famous for her intricate and beautiful cards that she had for every occasion. It was her passion, and she knew how to make you feel special and loved with a hand crafted from the heart card that was specially made for you. While she loved to craft and make cards, her favorite part of it was just gathering with her Stampin Up ladies to enjoy an evening of fun and laughter with her friends.

Pam is survived by her children, Josh and his son, Andrew, Travis (Robin) and their son, Beau, and Sarah (Tanner) Fuson and their son, Ryan; her parents, James & Barbara Newman; her brother, Mark (Debbie) Newman; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Scott; sibling, Bill Newman; nephews, Ray and Lance Newman; mother and father- in- law, Joe and Betty Murray; and several of Scott’s siblings, Joey, Mike, Bettie, Tim and most recently Pat.

Special note from the Murray Kids:

Even though Mom & Dad are no longer with us we know that they are sitting up in heaven in their camp chairs holding hands in front of a fire next to Heaven’s even more perfect version of their favorite beautiful Lake McDonald, with Dad drinking a Corona and Mom either stealing sips of his beer and watching us grow up and live our best lives and being so proud of their kids and grandkids.

We love you Mom and Dad, and we’ll always miss you, but we’ll keep you in our hearts forever and we’ll tell the grandkids stories of their cool Harley riding Papa and crafty amazing Grandma. We will do our best to instill the values and beliefs in our kids that you raised us with and will make you proud.  Until we meet again, love you to the moon and back!

Love you forever,

Josh & Andrew

Travis, Robin & Beau

Sarah, Tanner & Ryan
