Owana L. Weisgram Helton

Owana Lynette Weisgram was born May 6, 1965 to Donovan D. and Reta Rae Weisgram.  She joined older siblings Duane, David, and Shana.  She was an active, busy child who thought she could do everything her older siblings could.

She loved to be outside and play with the animals.  She hated to be inside or do household chores.  She would trade cleaning the bathroom to get out of her turn doing the dishes.  She had a generous heart, an interest in others and a big laugh.

Owana was involved in 4-H, school, sports, and music.  She loved the social aspect of school but thought homework was overrated.  She was an accomplished horsewoman and loved to spend time riding and showing horses.

Owana married DJ Helton and to this union her treasured children were born.  Holly Jay Helton was born in 1991 and Dallas Duane Helton in 1996.  Owana was the proud grandma to Holly boy’s, Keegan and Holden.

The outdoors was Owana’s favorite place to be.  She was renewed by the beauty of Montana.  She called the mountains “God country.”  She enjoyed hiking, rock hunting, four wheeling, and watching wildlife.

Owana passed away September 4, 2017 in Great Falls from a brain aneurysm.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Holly, in May 2016.

Survivors include her son, Dallas; parents, Don and Reta Rae Weisgram; brothers, Duane (Carol) Weisgram and family, David (Laura) Weisgram and family; sister, Shana (Jim) Withee and family; and many loved and treasured cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 11, at 2:00 PM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Conrad. She will be buried next to her Holly in Hillside Cemetery in Conrad.
