Nicholas W. Hjelm

Nicholas Wayne Hjelm, age 41 on September 23, 2025, of Conrad, passed away on September 29th of a long illness at home surrounded by his loving and caring wife, Rachel, and his loving mom, LaVonne, respectable dad, Robert, and special brother, Nathan Hjelm.

Nick was born in Conrad on September 23, 1984 to Robert and LaVonne Hjelm.

Nick went to high school in Conrad, later got his GED, then went to the College of Technology to further his education in mechanical work.

Nick married Rachel (Ghekiere) on April 2, 2024, in Conrad. They had planned to really be married on April Fool’s Day, April 1, but that is when the paperwork all got in order. They have been married for almost a year and a half, dating 6 months before they got married.

Nick worked at IGA and then Logan Health as a Technical Engineer. He worked at Logan Health for several years and did a fantastic job and was well appreciated for the job he did.

Nick especially loved doing mechanical work on vehicles, and on his Harley. He loved to ride his Harley. Favorite memories of Nick and what made him special was that he treated everyone great and he always had a joke to lighten your day and a big hug for you. He would always try to make you smile. He was a kindhearted person and will not be forgotten easily. Nick was one of a kind.

Remaining to cherish Nick’s memory are spouse, Rachel; his son, Logan Hjelm; dad, Robert Hjelm; mom, LaVonne Hjelm; brother, Nathan (Amanda) Hjelm; mother-in-law, Donna Suta, Nick referred to as “Gangster mom”; grandmother, Frieda Crane; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephew, and numerous relatives.

Nick had touched many lives. Thank you to all his special friends who were there for him. He rides high in the sky on that Harley of his, looking down on all of us for he has found his way.
