Nicholas M. Anton IV, age 58 of Billings, MT passed away unexpectedly on June
26th, 2025
Nick was born on August 1st, 1966 in Berwyn, Illinois to Nicholas and Diane Anton.
The family moved to Montana in the mid 70’s where Nick attended local schools
graduating from Cut Bank High School in 1985. After graduation Nick worked in
the family body shop until hiring on with a harvesting crew which took him on the
road and out of Montana. After harvesting season ended, Nick settled in
Oklahoma. Years later he relocated to Minnesota where he worked various jobs
but always held onto his dream of returning to Montana someday to be close to
his family.
Nick’s dream to return to Montana became a reality in December of 2023 when
we brought him back and he made Billings his home. . Nick stayed with his sister
and brother-in-law until with the help of his niece was able to find a place of his
own. Once settled in, he went to work for Town Pump and began enjoying all the
things he looked forward to doing once back in Montana. Nick enjoyed many trips
fishing, camping, hunting, traveling through Yellowstone Park, and soaking in
different hotsprings. Recently he enjoyed golfing with friends and attending car
racing with his friends at Big Sky Speedway.
Another one of Nicks dreams was to get his drivers license. With a lot of hard work
and patience, we celebrated that happy milestone with him in November of 2024.
Nick never met a stranger and loved a good BS session. He was a big guy of 6’2”
and known to all his friends in Billings as “Big Nick” tough on the outside and a big
soft teddy bear on the inside.
Nick is survived by his parents, Nicholas and Diane Anton of Cut Bank, MT. His
sister Christina {Jim} Rooney of Billings, MT, his sister Angie {John} Fugle of Cut
Bank, MT . His daughters Valerie Santoro, Elizabeth Santoro and Tiffany Santoro of
Cut Bank, MT and granddaughters Angela and Finley of Cut Bank as well as nieces,
nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, all of whom will miss Nick
every day for the rest of their lives.
Our family is tremendously grateful to Asper Funeral Home for coming alongside
our family during this difficult time.
Private interment will be held and in accordance with his wishes some of his ashes
will be lovingly scattered in a few of his favorite places this summer.
Until we meet again Nick, watch over us all. We love and miss you forever!
