Mary Lee Stephens, 83, a lifelong resident of Cut Bank, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2012, at the Northern Rockies Medical Center due to natural causes. Vigil/Rosary service will be 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 9, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM, Thursday at the church. Inurnment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Greg & Linda Stephens of Santa Barbara, CA, Sheila & Steve Hall of Missoula, Lana & Jim Leishman of Cut Bank, Kent & Rene Stephens of Moses Lake, WA and Scott & Wendy Stephens of Vancouver, WA; 18 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; brothers, Jerry, Donald, Kenneth and Gene Goldrick; and sisters, Noreen Stordahl and Clela Grealish.
She was born September 20, 1929 at Cut Bank to Martin & Bessie (Gillespie) Goldrick, where she grew up and was educated and in 1951 married William H. Stephens. Along with being a busy homemaker, Mary worked as bookkeeper for the Gene Boyle accounting firm for over 20 years.
She was an avid reader, card player and bowler, but mostly loved being around her family.
Mary was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church where she was active in the Guild.
