Marvin Gary Jeppesen (89) of Shelby, Montana passed away on Sunday April 7, 2024 in hospice care in Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife of almost 56 years, Sandra, by his side. They were in Las Vegas for an extended vacation visiting their daughter at the time of his death.

Marvin was born in Chester, MT to Ingolf and Magnhild Oline (Forseth) Jeppesen on January 27, 1935. He spent his early life on a ranch in the Sweetgrass Hills of Northern Montana and graduated from high school in Shelby. One of his first jobs was with The Turner Agency in Shelby and worked in the insurance industry for over 50 years.   He most recently worked as a broker and agent for The Tiber Agency, also in Shelby.  He officially retired October 31, 2023.  Marvin never considered his clients only clients, they were his friends. Marvin was a Shelby Volunteer firefighter for 20 years and was active in Kiwanis.

Marvin married Sandra Lee Doering on July 6, 1968 at St. Luke’s Lutheran church. Together they were very active in the church, including teaching Sunday school and various other activities.  They were members of Prairie Peace Lutheran in Cut Bank, where he was a former church president, at the time of his death.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Arnold, Harris (Cec) and Randolf (Rose) Jeppesen. Marvin is survived by his wife Sandy, his daughter Nancy (Kent) Sovocool of Henderson, NV, and sons Gary (Leslie) Jeppesen of Parrish, Fl and Mark (Karmen) Jeppesen of Waverly, IA.  He was a very proud grandfather to Christian and Nicholas Sovocool, Sarah Jeppesen, Alex and Christian Calvo, Maleeya Burchfield and Noah and Kayla Jeppesen.   He is also survived by a former foster daughter, Anna Perrson of Portales, New Mexico and many extended family members.

A funeral service will be held in Cut Bank at a later date.  Marvin’s family would like to thank everyone who provided care for him in both Shelby and Las Vegas and would like memorials to be sent to Prairie Peace Lutheran ( P.O. Box 876 , Cut Bank, MT  59427)or to Christ The Servant Lutheran Church (2 South Pecos Road, Henderson, NV 89074)
