Lydia A. (Brandt) Hansen

Lydia Adella (Brandt) Hansen, 95, passed on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

Lydia was born May 13, 1926 in New England, ND. She was the ninth of ten children to Louis and Laura (Krueger) Brandt. She attended school in Inverness. Shortly before graduating from high school, Lydia married Albert F. Hansen on February 12, 1944 in Shelby. They made their home on the Hansen homestead, 20 miles south of Rudyard. She was a farmwife and proud mother of 3 children. In 1958 they built a home in Rudyard where they wintered during the school year. They retired in 1974 and moved permanently to town and remained there. Albert passed on January 21, 2004.

Lydia and Albert were members of the Good Sam RV Club and took many trips south in their retirement years. She was a member of New Beginnings Lutheran Church Lydia enjoyed gardening, sewing, and camping.

Survivors include children, Sandra Ann (Joe) Lincoln and Donald Ray (Leota) Hansen both of Rudyard; son-in-law, Jack Plovanich of Maridian, ID; brother, Eugene Brandt of Chester; grandchildren, Janet, Jeff, Jody, Kari, Scott, and Kristi; and great grandchildren, Katelyn and Ty Hansen, Preston and Keaton Plovanich, Jerome and Jessie Lincoln, and Devon Rader.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Albert; parents; daughter, Linda Plovanick; and 8 brothers and sisters.
