With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Kenneth Ray Vogel, who left this world peacefully at home on June 16, 2026 after a courageous and prolonged battle with illness. Ken was Born in Billings, Montana on January 7, 1958.
Ken was the beloved son of Dorothy Hilderman and Ruben Vogel, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his brothers Harvey and Donald, and his beloved son, Owen.
Ken lived life with a deep love for family, friendship, and the outdoors. He had a universal love for children and was a caring, dedicated dad, full of fun and always ready with a joke to brighten the hearts around him. When he found the love of his life, Joyce, they blended their families and built a life centered on family, laughter, love, and unwavering support alongside their children. Ken shared countless adventures fishing, camping, boating, cutting firewood, and exploring the outdoors with his wife and six children.
Ken had a gift for making friends wherever he went and was known for his larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and willingness to offer advice or lend a helping hand. Many knew and loved him as "Papa V" from the arcade, where his humor and kindness left a lasting impression on countless people. Ken worked as a Deputy Sheriff, BNSF, and public works department amongst a few others.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Joyce Vogel, and his children, Josh (Lisa), Adam (Desiree), Richie (Andee), Annie (Wade), and Marshall (Michelle); and his brothers, Randy (Chris) and Ron, and his bonus father, Gary Schanck.
Ken's heart was filled with joy by his eleven grandchildren: Alannis, Trista, Dakota, Dylan, Siyah, Colt, Caleb, Emeree, Crue, Renae, and Maddison. Ken found immense happiness in watching them grow, sharing his wisdom, telling stories, and making them laugh. The grandchildren knew if you went to grandpa’s and grandma’s, you could get ice cream even if it was below zero outside. Ken was also blessed to welcome the next generation through his two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Ezra, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Ken's remarkable life will be held on July 25, 2026, at 1:30 pm at the Moose Lodge, 9 West Main Street in Cut Bank, Montana. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the memory of a man who touched so many lives.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Sheriff's Office, Police Department, Asper Funeral Home, and Logan Health EMTs for their swift response, tireless efforts, and compassionate care. Your dedication brought comfort during this difficult time and will never be forgotten.
