Katharina 'Katie' J (Wurz) Hofer

Katharina ‘Katie’ J Hofer, 88, retired homemaker and kindergarten teacher from Rimrock Colony passed away on October 7, 2013 after a long illness. Her funeral is Wednesday, October 9, at 12 noon with burial to follow in the Rimrock Colony Cemetery.
She was born March 17, 1925 in Milltown, SD to Jacob and Elizabeth (Wipf) Wurz. She and Joseph J Hofer were married on November 10, 1947.
Survivors include her sons, Zach (Lydia), Jacob (Susie), Joseph (Lydia), Peter (Gloria), and Elias (Lena) and daughters, Katherine (Peter) Hofer, Rebecca (John) Hofer, and Elizabeth Hofer, all of Rimrock Colony. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; her brother Michael Wurz of Rimrock Colony; and sisters Rebecca Wurz, Rachel Wurz, and Margareth Wurz, all of Horizon Colony and Lydia Waldner of Kyle Colony.
Preceding her in death are her husband of 59 years, Joseph; daughter, Lydia; brothers, John, Jacob, Samuel, Joseph, Zachariah, and Peter; sisters, Mary, Anna, Elizabeth, Sarah, Susanna; and one great-grandchild, Jacob J Wurz.
