June Loraine Duncan

June 1, 1927 — January 4, 2026

Cut Bank

June L. Dipple Duncan “Dip”, 98, of Cut Bank, passed away peacefully in her home on January 4, 2026.

June was born with a deep love for learning, faith, and people—qualities that shaped her life and touched countless others. She graduated from the University of Montana, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, and proudly played on the university’s women’s basketball team, a reflection of her strength, determination, and spirit.

June devoted her professional life to education. She began teaching in a Montana country school, where she taught all grade levels, later going on to teach high school Spanish. She retired from teaching in Cut Bank, leaving behind generations of students who benefited not only from her knowledge, but from her care and encouragement. She was also well known for her extensive teaching wardrobe—an impressive collection of outfits that rarely repeated and became a fondly remembered part of her classroom presence.

Beyond the classroom, June’s compassion knew no limits. She started the Cut Bank Food Bank from the trunk of her car, quietly and humbly serving those in need long before food insecurity was widely discussed. A devout Christian, June was an active and faithful member of her church throughout her life. She lived her faith daily, caring more about others than herself, and offering love, generosity, and grace to everyone she encountered.

Above all else, June was a deeply loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them was constant and unwavering.

June is survived by her sons, David L. Duncan of Cut Bank, Montana, and William L. Duncan and his wife Julie of Frenchtown, Montana; and her cherished grandchildren, Ian, Isaak, Lucas, Molli, Austin, Abram, Aimee, and Alex.

She was preceded in death by Lyall Duncan, and her son Richard A. Duncan, who passed on October 2, 2025.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Prairie Peace Lutheran Church in Cut Bank, Montana. All are welcome to join in honoring and celebrating June’s remarkable life.

Memorials in her name can be made to Harvest Food Pantry, 12 No Central Ave, Cut Bank.

June lived a life of quiet service, steadfast faith, and boundless love. We rejoice in the promise that she is now at peace, welcomed home by her Lord and Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her legacy of compassion and faith will live on in all who knew and loved her.
