With a broken heart, I'm sharing the passing of my mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend, Jo Ann Monroe Turner, who left us June 10, 2025. She passed peacefully in Cut Bank with her nephew and his wife by her side.
Jo Ann was born to Charles Monroe and Ella Caine Monroe on July,1931 at the Rising Wolf/Johnson ranch out of East Glacier.
When she was a young teenager, she and most of the family moved to Kalispell. To help out at home, she worked at Norms News and a few other places.
In her 20's she met and married Hal Lloyd. To that marriage was born 3 children.
That marriage ended in 1966. Years later she met, and married Clyde Turner and remained married until his death.
Jo Ann was a very hard worker, and enjoyed working at Hennesey's Steak House,
Hanging Tree, and, retired from the Elks Club in Kalispell. Jo Ann was liked by many and known for her sense of humor. She enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lloyd; son, Mike Lloyd; parents, Charles Monroe and Ella; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti Harvey (Glen); grandson, Michael P. Harvey; granddaughter, Krista D Harvey; 4 great granddaughters; a great grandson; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann will be greatly missed by all her family.
A celebration of Jo Ann's life will be August 2 at 12:30 at the Rising Wolf/Johnson ranch out of East Glacier. Food will be prepared and served at the Library/Community Center in East Glacier.
