Jim King

July 28, 1943 — July 20, 2017

James C. King, 73, entered Heaven on July 20th, in Great Falls, Mt. Viewing at Whitted Funeral Home on Monday, July 24 from 5-7PM with Graveside Service Tuesday at 2PM at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Jim was born to Calvin and Eleanor (Seymour) King in Cut Bank MT. He attended High school in Cut Bank and then attended college at MSU Northern in Havre, MT. Graduating with a bachelor degree in education and psychology. Jim taught history in several schools for over 10 years and coached basketball while teaching. He joined the army and spent 2 years in Germany as a machine gun specialist and body guard for a general during Vietnam. Jim loved Sales, starting with cars and furniture, he then used his military training and became the Glacier county disasters and emergency services coordinator retiring in 2008. Jim Married Stephanie Cunningham in 1983, and they had a joyful and full life together. He and Steph loved the unusual and built the concession trailer and hit the road for a few summers. Allowing them purchased the Snack Shop and add on -38 below Ice cream shop. Which became the gathering spot for many generations of Cut Bankers. He loved his Cats, (Britches, Black Jack, and Willie) and left Steph with two kittens to keep her company. He loved gardening and just being outside in general. He was a 35 year monarch of the Cut Bank Lions Club, which was very special to him. He loved to build and tinker with everything, only to tear it apart and put it back together. He collected and sold truck banks building a collection. Jim did not have any children but he helped raise many.

Jim is survived by his wife Stephanie King, Cut Bank MT. George Dobson, San Antonio TX. Sister Libby Lacroix, Ottawa OH. Niece Debbie Dobson, San Antonio TX. Nephews Dennis Dobson, Topeka KA. Darrel Dobson, Casper WY. Jim loved life and lived it to the fullest. Now he is a new home with the lord. Donations and Memorials if you wish can be sent to the Cut Bank Lions Club.
