James Patrick Higgins “Jim Higgins”  ,70, passed away peacefully Sunday August 5, 2018 at Benefis Health Care from natural causes surrounded by his wife and children.
A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Cut Bank on Saturday, August 18​th​, at 3pm. Jim requested this to be a potluck style lunch and get together to visit and reminisce: he did not want anything formal.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangement are under the direction of Asper Funeral Home.

Jim was born September 4, 1947 in Cut Bank, Montana to George F. and Marjorie J. (Peterson) Higgins.  He graduated from Cut Bank High School in 1966. Jim served two tours in Vietnam after graduation from high school.   Jim married the love of his life, Debbie, on June 21, 1972. Shortly after they bought their first home together, they began working and traveling. The two of them thoroughly enjoyed their time with each other traveling, being young, and making the most out of life. A few years later, they decided it was time to start a family and had three children: Toni, Nicole and David. Family dinners, camping, fishing trips, and traveling were a few of Jim’s favorite pastimes. Jim worked for Getters Trucking, Flying J Trucking, Dick Irvin, and retired from Al’s Diesel. He was also a lifelong Moose member. Later in life, Jim was blessed with the adoption of two more girls, Crystal and Brianne, who completed the Higgins family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Toni (Michael) Moore, Nikki Higgins and David Higgins; grandchildren, Danisha Higgins, Brittney Moore, Crystal Higgins, Brianne Higgins, Tyler Stelling, and Mason Higgins; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marjorie Higgins and his sister, Mary Higgins.
