James Douglas McAdams was born on October 22, 1951, in Minden, Louisiana, to James Rayford McAdams and Alice Cosper Burt. After attending Minden High School, he went on to join the Army.
Douglas was dedicated to the Army for 22 years as Sergeant First Class and served in the communication and infantry divisions. His bravery was evident during the Desert Storm. After his military service, he pursued various careers, including becoming a Master Machinist, a Truck Driver, and a phlebotomist. In his free time, he was passionate about working with the Humane Society and various animal rescues, particularly caring for bottle babies.
Douglas’s love for woodworking, his close-knit friends, animals, and family was unwavering. He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Douglas married Cammy on March 30th, 2000 in Texarkana, Arkansas. Together, they shared 26 wonderful years. He passed on June 3, 2026.
Survivors include wife, Cammy McAdams; children, James McAdams of Copperas Cove, TX, Tiffanée (Frank) McAdams Espinal of Temple, Tx, Stephanie (Brian) White Harrington of Emerson, AR, Don (Erin) Moseley of Morehead, KY, Amanda Moseley of Scobey, MT, Leland Moseley of Seattle, WA, and Skyler McAdams of Scobey, MT; grandchildren, Emili (Alex), Gabriel, Janet, Ally, Emma, Chloe, Sara, Dominic, Isaiah, Ahna, Ben; and great grandchildren; Mina and Victor.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Cosper Burt; father, James Rayford McAdams; stepfather, Lonnie Cupples, and brother, George McAdams.
