Helen Anna (Ebert) Henderson

April 26, 1930 — November 2, 2022

Cut Bank

Helen Anna (Ebert) Henderson, 92, of Cut Bank died Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Cut Bank BeeHive due to natural causes.

Survivors include her son, David (Charleen) Henderson of Cut Bank; her daughter, Dani (Bill) Patten of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Taylor (Tim) Ramirez of Oceano, CA and Tannor (Josee) Patten of Santa Clarita, CA; two great grandchildren, Avery and Blakely Ramirez of Oceano, CA; two sisters, Carole LaValley of Black Eagle and Vicki (Don) Presnell of Cut Bank; and one brother, Dick Ebert of Cut Bank.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Henderson; her parents, Lawrence and Agnes Ebert; and a brother, Earl Ebert.

Helen was born April 26, 1930 to Lawrence and Agnes (Kohel) Ebert in Conrad, then grew up in Cut Bank and graduated from Cut Bank High School. She met Dan Henderson in the second grade and while playing baseball, he didn’t tag her out at first base, which made a lasting impression. They remained good friends through their school years and then Dan served in the Korean War in 1950. After being wounded in the war in 1951, Dan returned to Cut Bank. Helen and Dan wed on May 4, 1953, and were happily married until his death in 1999.

Helen worked for Bank of Glacier County until Dan started his own construction business for which Helen did the books. She was also busy as a homemaker and well known for the incredible cooking she did for large family dinners during the holidays, and the baking of cakes, pies, sugar cookies, and other goodies throughout the year-always having something to serve with coffee for any relative that stopped by on their way through town. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Her favorite time of year was spring so she could plant flowers in her yard and sit out on the patio to enjoy their beauty for the few warm months Cut Bank had. Helen enjoyed dancing (especially to Mack the Knife with Dan), was part of a bowling league for several years, and always looked forward to her golf outings and “birthday club” get togethers with the gals. Above all, she was known and loved for her welcoming spirit, unconditional love, and ability to tell a good story or joke (paired with her infectious laugh). She will forever be remembered for these traits.

Her family would like to thank the staff of the Beehive for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Helen.

Memorial mass will be held Friday, June 9, at 1:00pm at St. Margarets Catholic Church. Burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
