Gloria "Sis" Sundquist

April 19, 1930 — August 14, 2017

Gloria (Sis) Sundquist, 87, of Cut Bank, passed away on Aug. 14, 2017 due to complications of cancer.
Her funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, Aug. 18 at Prairie Peace Lutheran Church in Cut Bank.
Gloria was born in Great Falls on April 19, 1930. She grew up east of Dutton with three older brothers, Lynn (Bush), Fred (Tut), and Gene (Greaseball) Van Horn. She graduated from Dutton High School and studied nursing at Montana State College.
Gloria married Carl Magnus Sundquist on Oct. 15, 1950, and was happily married for 35 years until his passing on Nov. 22, 1985.
Gloria was a farmer for most of her life. She enjoyed being part of the supportive community of farming friends north of Cut Bank. After 'retiring' from the farm, she served as a director for Dutton State Bank for 20 years.
Gloria was an avid community servant throughout her life. She was active in WIFE. She worked actively to rid our region of noxious weeds, by spraying and by serving on the Tri-county Weed Board. She helped at her church, and delighted in making things to help with fundraisers.
Gloria loved to play cards, gardening, working in her yard, and swimming. Gloria enjoyed crafts of all kinds, like stained glass, quilting, and making greeting cards. She loved traveling with her friends and visiting her children and grandchildren.
Gloria was always ready for an adventure, and would never shy away from a challenge. She didn't know the word can't. Over the years, she did a lot of snowmobiling and ATV riding. She recently rode in a helicopter, and had many more adventures planned.
She was an open-hearted woman, who shared love with her friends and family and community. No matter what, if you needed Gloria, she was there for you.
Gloria is survived by three children, Carl Sundquist, Carrie Vollrath (Jim), and Mary Gordon (Greg); seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Carl, her son Scott, and many friends.
Gloria supported many charities. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice in her memory
