Gary Edward Sulenes, born 1935 in Olympia, Washington passed away Friday, January 12th, 2024 after a quiet afternoon visiting with friends and family.
Gary lived a cowboy life, ranching, riding horses and winning buckles in the Ellensburg, Washington rodeo. He loved horses and animals his whole life.
He also spent his life as a meat cutter, starting in Seattle, Wa Pike Place Market. He spent over 70 years in the meat industry.
He married Victoria Lynne Watkins in 1989 in Saipan, MP, the Northern Mariana Islands, and together they spent their lives working in the meat business.
They moved to Montana in 2005 where Gary retired and passed on his meat cutting skills and knowledge to the next generation of young cowboys and family.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Collier and father, Carl Sulenes. He is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughter, Naomi (Jonathan) Pruneda; and two grandchildren, Ellie and Luke.
Gary was loved by his family and community, he will be greatly missed. Even as we grieve, we thank the Lord for taking him and sheltering him in peace. He will be winning buckles in the angel’s rodeo in no time.
Per Gary’s wishes, a summer party will be given in his memory at the family home. A second remembrance will be held in Ellensburg, WA; an area that was dear to his heart. Details will be provided at a later date.
