Florence M. Allison

Florence Mae Rutherford Allison age 95 died of natural causes Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Marias Care Center in Shelby. Florence was born November 22, 1922 to Ellen (Crawford) and William Rutherford at the family ranch on Birch Creek.
She was raised on the family ranch and attended Birch Creek country school completing eighth grade. She then attended Haskell Indian School Lawrence Kansas where she received her high school diploma. She continued her education at Haskell completing commercial school. She moved back to the Blackfeet Reservation and taught at Swims Under School. She married Gail (Buzzy Noots) Fitzpatrick and they moved to Alaska where Buzzy worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. While in Alaska Florence worked many different jobs.
Florence is survived by daughter-in-law Patti Fitzpatrick of Florence, CO her two sisters Minnie Hirst and Lottie Syth, two grandchildren Robi Erickson of Chandler, AZ, Katy McKinney and two great grandchildren Madysen and Mason of Florence, CO and several nieces and nephew.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Diane Craig and son Gary Fitzpatrick, five sisters and two brothers, husbands Gail (Buzz) Fitzpatrick, and Roy Allison.
Florence was an avid Denver Bronco fan, beautiful seamstress and many hobbies and her favorite was the flower garden.
Florence was a devoted catholic. She will truly be missed by her loving family and her special friend “Misty” her dog.
