Everette Willis King, 79 years old, passed away July 13, 2024. Everett was known for a serious face that easily erupted into a big smile and infectious laugh. He was always ready to share stories, especially his favorite topics - his kids and grandkids. He loved to build and fix, it didn’t matter what it was, he loved the challenge.
Everett grew up in Valier and went to Northern Montana College in Havre where he played football. Everett loved sports and played them throughout his life, including country polo, trap shooting, golf, fishing, hunting, and basketball. During college, he took a road trip to Seattle to visit his sister, and met his future wife, Judy. After they got married, they lived in a suburb of Seattle and he worked for Boeing building and testing airplanes. Everett served in the Vietnam War (1966-1968) and was awarded multiple medals for his bravery. Eventually, they moved to Valier where they owned the Valier hotel, and eventually took over the King ranch, where they raised their kids and lived until they passed away.
Everett will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a void that was once filled with laughter, love, and someone you knew would always be there for you. He is preceded in death by his parents (Harry and Alma), brother (Melvin), and wife (Judy). He is survived by his son (Damon), daughter (Heather), son-in-law (Craig), grandkids (Isabelle and Miles), sisters (Marie and Dorothy), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Please join us in celebrating Everett on Friday, July 26th at 2:00 pm at the Valier Methodist Church, followed by military honors at the Valier Lakeview Cemetery, and refreshments back at the Church.
