Dwain was an avid supporter of local sporting events and cherished the camaraderie he found while having coffee with friends at the Panther Cafe. He was also a regular attendee of the Valier Senior Center. Dwain spent many cheerful hours playing cards and dancing the Polka. Dwain had an appreciation for old westerns and enjoyed watching them whenever he could.

Dwain received his education in Uehling, Nebraska, laying the foundation for a successful and fulfilling life. He developed a strong work ethic from an early age that carried him through his varied occupations and endeared him to those who knew him.

Family meant everything to Dwain. He is preceded in death by a loving wife, Faye Swanson; Loretta Jennings, his faithful companion; his father Hugo Swanson and mother Edith (Johnson) Swanson; his sisters Martha (Arthur) and Dorothy; brothers Marvin (Cecil), Weldon, Carl, Thomas (Carrol), and Larry (Joan). Their bond was unbreakable, and the memories they shared will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Survivors include his brother, Gordon (Linda) Swanson; Dwain's children, Julie (Marty) Swanson Brian of Selah, WA, and Robert (Milissa Kochel) Swanson of Valier; numerous nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart. He cherished every moment spent with them and took great pride in their accomplishments.
